Tenure-Track Faculty Positions in the Division of Advanced Nuclear Engineering at POSTECH (Fusion/Plasma/Accelerator Science)

The Division of Advanced Nuclear Engineering (DANE) (http://dane.postech.ac.kr) at Pohang University of Science and Technology (POSTECH http://www.postech.ac.kr/eng/) in Korea invites applications for tenure-track faculty positions in the fields of Fusion Science and Technology, Plasma Physics and Engineering, and Accelerator Science. The faculty position starts from the first semester of the academic year 2027 or the official start date can be negotiated if necessary.

We look for candidates with the potential to build an internationally competitive research program at POSTECH. The successful candidate is expected to have international recognition in his/her fields, demonstrate ability to establish and lead an independent research group, and show strategies to collaborate effectively with scientists and research groups at POSTECH. The candidate is also expected to have competencies for teaching undergraduate and graduate courses and supervising students.

Eligibility

Applicants must hold a Ph.D. in Nuclear Engineering, Plasma Science, Accelerator Physics or closely related fields.
We also welcome applications from exceptional Ph.D. students who expect to complete their Ph.D. by their faculty appointment date.
We anticipate hiring at the assistant professor level but will also consider an associate professor appointment for exceptional candidates.
Non-Korean citizens and female scientists are encouraged to apply.

Curriculum Vitae including a full list of publications, patents, and technology transfers etc.
Statement of education/past research and future plans
At least three representative achievements (journal publications and/or R&D records)
At least three references with their contact information.

For successful candidates who pass the first screening, we will request individually letters of recommendation (and other additional documents if necessary), and arrange an in-person interview session and a public lecture. If no proper candidates are found, the position may not be filled in this round of faculty search and will be deferred to the next round.
