Tenure-Track Faculty Positions in Physics at POSTECH Quantum Materials and Quantum Technology (Quantum Materials: Theory and experiment, Quantum technology: Quantum optics, atomic physics, circuit QED, and related fields)

The Department of Physics at Pohang University of Science and Technology (POSTECH), South Korea invites applications for two tenure-track faculty positions, with expected appointment starting in the second half of 2027.

We are particularly interested in candidates with exceptional research accomplishments and the potential to establish internationally competitive independent research programs. Successful candidates are expected to develop and lead independent research groups at POSTECH, pursue innovative and impactful research, and actively engage in collaborations with researchers at POSTECH and its affiliated research institutions. They will also be expected to teach undergraduate and graduate courses, and supervise and mentor graduate students.

Eligibility
  • Applicants must have a Ph.D. in physics or a closely related field by the time of appointment. Exceptional doctoral candidates who expect to complete their Ph.D.
  • before their appointment date are also encouraged to apply. Appointments are open to all ranks (assistant, associate, full professors). Salary and benefits will be commensurate with qualifications and experience.
